Retirement after 50 years service results in new appointment
Following the recent retirement of Tony Franklin, Micheldever-based New Holland dealer Oakes Bros Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Pratt to the role of Area Sales Manager.
Simon moves from his role in his family business and takes up his duties with immediate effect.
Simon said: “I have a very large pair of boots to step into but I am very much looking forward to taking up my new post and working with the committed and professional team we have at Oakes Bros Limited. We have exciting times ahead and I look forward to being part of the company’s continued growth in years to come.”
Tony Franklin announced his retirement after 50 years service with the dealership. Originally starting out as an apprentice at the age of 15, Tony spent 15 years in service before moving into sales.
Tony said: “When I first started, I was a harvest specialist working on combines. I can remember when the combine increased from eight feet wide to 12 feet and people said they were too big. How things have changed!
“It’s the people I remember most, all the family businesses I’ve worked with over the years making the hard work and long hours enjoyable. You can’t beat the buzz of helping someone.”
Kevin Ridley, Operations Director at Oakes Bros Limited, added: “Oakes Bros Limited is very grateful to Tony for his 50 years of dedicated service. Simon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role and I am sure he will continue to build on the excellent work of his predecessor.”
