The new small and medium frame tractors from John Deere’s 6R series will be at the FTMTA ‘Grass and Muck’ in May.
The small frame John Deere 6R tractors are equipped with the PowerTech stage 111B 4.5ltr 4 cylinder engines rated from 105 to 125 hp the models are the 6105R, 6115R and 6125R.
The meduim frame 6130R which is a 130hp 4 cylinder engine mounted in a 6 cylinder frame, the 6140R 140hp and the 6150R 150hp have a stage 111B 6.8ltr 6 cylinder PowerTech PVX engines.
The transmission option include the newly designed 24 speed DirectDrive which combines the handling comfort of an infinitely variable shift transmission and the power of a mechanical unit.
The 6R has the new Comfort View cab which has 20% more space and increased visibility.
The FTMTA Grass and Muck 2012 is taking place at Gurteen Agricultural College Co Tipperary on May 17th

Thursday, January 26th, 2012John Deere’s new DirectDrive transmission will be availably on 6 cylinder 6R series 140hp to 210hp later this year.
The DirectDrive transmission combines infinitly variable shift transmission with the power efficiency of a mechanical transmission and has been specifically designed for tasks which require continuous power such as ploughing and towing.
The transmission uses a double clutch and electromagnetic actuchors to enable fast and smooth changes between speeds and ranges. the DirectDrive transmission can be used in manual mode via a control lever or automatic mode. there are 3 ranges and eight speed in each range with a max speed of 50kms. Using the efficiency manager function the speed can automaticaly be matched to the engine rpm this can give you 50kms at significantly lower engine RPM
